Iba Yan’s episode puts highlight on Filipino values, tells inspiring ‘Tatay’ stories from Mauban.

Angel Locsin’s show Iba Yan presented another heart-stirring episode which featured stories of inspiring ‘tatays’ from Mauban, Quezon, who despite the hardships amid crisis continue to be the source of strength and best provider for their families.

The episode put the spotlight on Tatay Pablito, Cris and Tatay Ferdie whom the show’s host Angel Locsin spent a day with to better understand how they face life’s challenges in the aftermath of Typhoon Ambo that slammed ashore Mauban.

Amid the chaos brought about by the novel coronavirus, Super typhoon Ambo caused great damage on their homes and livelihood and tested the resilience of the three featured “haligi ng tahanan” who only proves that Filipinos are a strong breed.

Their unwavering resolve to face the myriad of crises tugs at the heart of viewers who were able relate to their inspiring characters which have shown strong Filipino values of “katatagan at pagmamahal sa pamilya.”

“Ibang klase ang Kulturang Pinoy.  Talagang nangunguna ang Pagmamahal, Pagmamalasakit, Pagsasakripisyo at Pagiging matatag ng mga Magulang at Anak para sa kapakanan ng Pamilya. Mabuhay po kayo Tatay Ferdie, Tatay Pablito at Tatay Cris! Happy Father’s Day po! #IbaYan @143redangel,” a netizen said on Twitter.

Tatay Pablito, Cris and Tatay Ferdie amongst the hundred of fishermen in Mauban are a representation of us as a nation who can withstand just about anything, whether they may be crippling effects of global crisis or onslaught of earthquakes and super typhoons. And despite the terror that gripped us in the aftermath, the Filipino spirit and our values live on.
