Tipid hacks! Angel Locsin and Neil Arce show how they upcycled their 12-year old christmas tree!




Christmas is just around the corner and everyone is preparing for one of the most awaited and celebrated holidays in the country!

We Filipinos really go big during Christmas, our streets are covered with twinkling bright lights that signifies people’s holiday cheer and houses begin to look a lot like Christmas months before December.


Newly weds Angel Locsin and Neil Arce are celebrating their first Christmas as a married couple on their new home and on their recent vlog, the couple shared how they upcycled Angel’s Christmas tree which the couple bought 12 years ago back when they were still friends!




"Sinamahan ko siya bumili ng Christmas tree na 'yan 12 years ago, nung friends pa kami," shared Neil. "And na-decide namin, ito pa rin 'yung gamitin sa house namin for our first Christmas. Konting face lift lang ang kailangan." he added.


"Kami, we're all for 'yung mga gamit na luma na pero kung pwede pa namang magamit, gamitin natin 'di ba? Pandemic ngayon, let's be practical. Paano ba natin siya papagandahin?" added Angel.


The couple is known for their simplicity which is also evident on their wedding and it is a no surprise that they’ll choose simplicity whenever possible and in upcycling their 12-year old Christmas tree, they enlist the help of their good friend and one of the country's top event stylists, Randy Lazaro who‘s also responsible for the beautiful set-up for their reception on their wedding and the arrangement of Angel’s bouquet.


The atmosphere automatically changes during Christmas. City of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was filled with so much gratitude as he thanked those people for their outpouring support to the city of Manila via donations and to those who have provided assistance including the philanthropic actress Angel Locsin and her fiancé Neil Arce. The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans.
