Meriam-Webster dictionary defined gamechanger as “a newly introduced element or factor that changes an existing situation or activity in a significant way” and these 8 Filipino gamechangers as recognized by JCI Batangas on their 2nd Gawad Balisong Awards certainly fits perfectly in that definition!

Since the onset of the pandemic, we wake up to uncertainties not knowing when or if our lives will still go back to normal. We sometimes feel hopeless but these 8 Filipino gamechangers has restored hope and faith in humanity and government.

The 2nd Gawad Balisong Awards honors 8 Filipino gamechangers on their respective fields. Hidilyn Diaz who won the country’s first-ever Olympic gold medal, in Sports;

Ana Patricia Non who spearheaded community pantry in Maginhawa QC that became extremely trending and inspired hundreds or even thousands of people to start their own that it started sprouting in neighboring towns, cities, and provinces in Humanitarian Service alongside none other than Angel Locsin who has won the said award last year and is consistently helping other people in this time of pandemic,

Vice President Leni Robredo and Mayor Vico Sotto in government service, Nobel peace prize winner Maria Ressa for Journalism and Dr. Kilimanguru and Ivana Alawi for Digital Media.

These 8 chosen Filipinos have made such a difference in other people’s lives that they certainly are nothing but a gamechanger.
