Angel Locsin, hailed as one of the Outstanding Filipino Gamechangers for two consecutive years!




We have been in the midst of the crisis brought to us by the coronavirus pandemic for two years. Thankfully, situation has progressed since and it is no longer as scary as it is when it started in 2020 but it is still a threat especially now that few variants which is more contagious have been discovered. With the threat of coronavirus and all, the country is also not spared of calamities such as a number of super typhoons that flooded some communities and areas in the country just like typhoon Odette. It is indeed a challenging year for everyone but thankfully, we have gamechangers who inspire hope and courage that help people get through these challenging times and just recently, JCI Batangas Balisong honors outstanding Filipino gamechangers of 2021 one of which is none other than Angel Locsin!


Last year, Angel Locsin is amongst the awardees of the first ever Gawad Balisong Awards and for their second year, the actress once again land the list!

Since the onset of the pandemic, Angel has been of great help to the health workers and to the community. When the news about the challenges of health worker to travel to and from their workplace, the actress with the help of her fiancé set-up a sleeping area for the nurses and heath professionals of Taguig.




Right after then, she launched a fund raising campaign dubbed as #UniTENTweStandPH which aimed to help aid hospitals who are operating at full and overcapacity because of the pandemic. They were able to raise 11M pesos in just 3 weeks and was able to help over 100 hospitals in the metro and neighboring provinces.


Angel Locsin has done so much in this time of pandemic. Aside from making sure to extend her helping hand to help combat the pandemic, the actress also initiate a number of relief operations during calamities.


Over the past decade, Angel Locsin has been a consistent gamechanger. From being one of the few artists who uses their platform not just for personal gain, she is also one of the few who consistently flies to far flung areas whenever the country faces calamities man-made or natural. A real-life Darna whom inspire change through her words and more so through her actions!

Mayor Isko to Angel Locsin, “Mabasa ka sana ng ulan para dumami ka pa.”

City of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was filled with so much gratitude as he thanked those people for their outpouring support to the city of Manila via donations and to those who have provided assistance including the philanthropic actress Angel Locsin and her fiancé Neil Arce. The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans. On her Instagram post, the actress expressed her gratitude to more than 100 volunteers who helped them repack food packs and hygiene kits.
