Liza Soberano on having the courage to speak-up “I was honestly inspired by Ate Angel Locsin.”

People always see celebrities on a different light when it comes to social issues may it be political or socio-economical. They are oftentimes discouraged by most to speak-up, “artista lang” as what others would say. But many celebrities have proven these people wrong and made their voices heard and two of them whom fearlessly and courageously speak-up and stand-up for what they believe in are Angel Locsin and Liza Soberano.

Angel Locsin has always been vocal about things that affect others. Issues that some people of her stature can easily brush off. She always uses her platform to give voice for the voiceless and her bravery and strength never fails to inspire people and younger generations like Liza Soberano who admitted that she was inspired by her ate Angel.

“I was honestly inspired by Ate Angel Locsin. I admire her bravery and how much she loves the Philippines and the Filipino people. And I always knew deep in my heart ever since I was young, before I became an actress, I wanted a job that could help people. And the job that I have right now does help people by entertaining them, giving them something to you know, watch and hang on to, because I have a lot of fans that are always telling me that I’m the only thing that keeps them sane or I’m the only thing that keeps them happy and and hopeful—and I’m more than happy to do that,” she said.

“But I feel like at this point in my life, I want to do so much more than just entertaining people I want to actually physically be able to help them,” she added.

Having a huge platform that can literally reach millions of people is a privilege and we are so lucky that we have artists like Angel Locsin and Liza Soberano who are not afraid to use their platform for the benefit of the common good no matter how many detractors and bashers would come after them!
