Darna is one of the most, if not the most iconic superheroes in the country. Everybody knows her name, her story, and everything about her. Darna is the country’s most favorite superhero and over the years, the role which originated from print became a motion picture and was portrayed by a lot of amazing women one of which is Angel Locsin.


Angel Locsin played the role of Darna in 2005. After seeing what she can do as Alwina in the hit serye Mulawin, she was tapped to don the iconic costume to fly as Darna and she did! She flew higher than what’s expected and became one of the most phenomenal Darna. The series had its highest rating at 52.1% which is until now, one of the top rated episodes of all time!


Because of the success of the show, Angel Locsin land a lot of brand deals and endorsements and apart from all that, she also had a lot of appearances and guestings as Darna. Just recently, an old clip from 2005 resurfaced online; Angel Locsin, wearing her Darna costume made a special appearance in ‘Lagot Ka Isusumbong Kita’ which is airing at that time.




On the said clip, it was seen how Darna poses as a sign for her to fly until an unexpected thing happened — she called for a pedicab instead! This has got to be one of the funniest clips you’ll ever watch and will definitely make your day!


It has been a long time since this show aired and it is really amazing how even until now, people still see Angel as Darna and even though she was almost always associated with drama and action, she still has a funny bone in her and can easily make people laugh with her impeccable timing in comedy!

City of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was filled with so much gratitude as he thanked those people for their outpouring support to the city of Manila via donations and to those who have provided assistance including the philanthropic actress Angel Locsin and her fiancé Neil Arce. The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans. On her Instagram post, the actress expressed her gratitude to more than 100 volunteers who helped them repack food packs and hygiene kits.
