Angel Locsin’s Darna, one of the inspirations of Stonefree’s hit song “Anghel sa Lupa”!
We sometimes write the things we can’t say and for those who have a gift for music, they transform these unspoken feelings to songs.
We as listeners most often than not identify to the lyrics of our favorite songs which sometimes made us wonder what or who are the composer’s inspiration to be able to write such masterpiece. Just recently, Stonefree’s vocalist revealed one of their inspirations behind their hit song “Anghel sa Lupa.”
“Anghel sa lupa, mananatitili ka...” this is how the song’s chorus begins and who knew the inspiration to the song is a literal Angel?
On a recent interview with Summit OG, Stonefree’s vocalist Miro Valera revealed that Darna 2005, starring Angel Locsin is one of his inspirations in writing the song. During that time that they are working on the album Delorean, he revealed that the band was a huge fan of Darna “Angel Locsin was our, that time, na local superhero, si Darna” he shared.
Stonefree’s “Anghel sa Lupa” is not the only hit song that was inspired by Angel Locsin’s Darna. One other hit song that was influenced by the phenomenal 2005 hit serye was Kamikazee’s song “Narda” that was later on used as Darna 2009’s theme song.
On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin said that these two songs would be her wedding march if she had one and it is only fitting knowing that she is one of the inspirations of these two songs that played a huge part in our music industry and pop culture!
