Philippine Coast Guard thanks Angel Locsin for donating Covid-19 medical supplies
On a Facebook post last Friday, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) thanked Angel Locsin for donating disposable gloves and medical supplies to the PCG to support the agency’s efforts to protect public health and safety amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The actress philanthropist turned over 2,500 pairs of disposable gloves to the local agency’s Task Group Resource Management, Logistics, and Admin on April 13, 2021.
The post reads:
“THANK YOU, MISS ANGEL LOCSIN!
The men and women of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) express their sincere gratitude to Miss Angel Locsin for donating 2,500 pairs of disposable gloves to support the daily operations of the Task Group Airport and Task Group RT-PCR amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Locsin turned over said medical supplies to the Task Group Resource Management, Logistics, and Admin on 13 April 2021.
The Task Group Airport and Task Group RT-PCR support the national government in ensuring thousands of returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs) undergo swab testing as one of the measures to control the spread of COVID-19 in the country. #DOTrPH 🇵🇭️ #CoastGuardPH #MaritimeSectorWorks”
Angel Locsin has been an active humanitarian aid worker raising funds and providing medical equipment in response to the COVID-19 outbreak in the Philippines. She earlier raised over 11 million pesos to set up tents for health frontliners in overcrowded hospitals due to the pandemic last year.
The revival of her decade old Shop and Share initiative with co-Kapamilya actress, Anne Curtis, also has pooled PHP 6 million from donations from celebrities to help provide COVID-19 vaccine and testing for workers and the urban poor in the Philippines.
