Angel Locsin, receives a special award at the 4th Eddys (Entertainment Editors’ Choice) Awards!




The Entertainment Editors' Choice (Eddys) awards is an annual film event that honors craftsmen, actors, writers, directors, workers, and producers in the film industry organized by the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd), whose members are the entertainment editors of national broadsheets and top tabloids in the country.

On its 4th year, the organization is adding the Isah V. Red Award to its roster of awards to pay homage to SPEEd's founding president, the late Isah V. Red.

According to Ian Fariñas, SPEEd's current president, this recognition is given to individuals like Isah V. Red, hence the name — someone who's dynamic and spirited with a deep love for God, country, and community—who beyond the realm of entertainment has so enriched and made a difference in the lives of many, in his most colorful, gregarious, and inimitable way and one of the recipients of the said award is none other than Ms. Angel Locsin!




Angel Locsin, dubbed as the real-life Darna embodies selflessness and generosity. Beyond the glitz and glamour of the entertainment industry, she's never hesitant to lend a helping hand through various relief operations.

She's always one of the first ones to make a move and her contribution in this time of pandemic has helped a lot of healthcare workers. Aside from her philanthropic deeds, she is also one strong woman who doesn't hold back. She speaks her mind and was never afraid to make a stand for what she believes in. Truly someone deserving of the recognition and someone worth emulating!


Alongside Angel Locsin are two more recipients of the same award; Kim Chiu and Bong Revilla.

4th Eddys (Entertainment Editors’ Choice) Awards is happening this Monday and because of the current situation were in right now, it will be done digitally and will be streamed live through their official social media accounts.

City of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was filled with so much gratitude as he thanked those people for their outpouring support to the city of Manila via donations and to those who have provided assistance including the philanthropic actress Angel Locsin and her fiancé Neil Arce. The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans. On her Instagram post, the actress expressed her gratitude to more than 100 volunteers who helped them repack food packs and hygiene kits.
