Angel Locsin receives Spirit of Philanthropy Award from Phil. Red Cross!




Angel Locsin took to Instagram on Sunday, January 17th, her sincerest gratitude to Philippine Red Cross for giving her yet another recognition, a Spirit of Philanthropy Award, for showing a commitment to charitable responsibility and a generosity to inspire others to philanthropic action. “Thank you @philredcross 🙏🏻,” the actress simply said.


Since Typhoon Ondoy in 2009, Locsin has been a familiar face during PRC relief packing activities and rescue operations. No doubt why the Philippine Red Cross chose her as its Ambassador and bestowed her the honor to represent the organization for their efforts to promote, raise funds and help the PRC with their activities/projects like advocating for voluntary blood donation.


Despite her busy schedule and showbiz commitments, she finds time to complete 8 hours of sleep so she can qualify to donate blood - that's already a feat for someone as sought-after as her.




She may be popular but she never entertains special treatment and would insist on sitting on cold floors or anywhere other volunteers would sit while packing relief items, carry heavy boxes of goods and assist those who are finding the load too heavy to lift.


What’s more admirable is how she can still wear a charismatic smile after all the lifting and all the sweating that comforts and inspires.


Ever since, selflessness and unreluctance to help have become her way of life, sometimes putting her safety and life at risk to help save lives. She became increasingly active and more involved in philanthropic and social causes in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic which earned her the admiration of many and recognitions both locally and internationally.


Truly an angel not just by name but in selfless deeds. You deserve all these awards and more! Thank you, Angel!

City of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was filled with so much gratitude as he thanked those people for their outpouring support to the city of Manila via donations and to those who have provided assistance including the philanthropic actress Angel Locsin and her fiancé Neil Arce. The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans.
