Val Iglesias talks about Angel Locsin as an action star and a woman of action.

Angel Locsin has portrayed a lot of roles in an action themed teleseryes. Her first ever lead role in fact is in the action-fantasy themed Mulawin as Alwina and since then, she was oftentimes eyed for projects in that genre. Though it has been known to be a man dominated genre, Angel Locsin has successfully owned being an action star herself and is now known to be the Action-Drama Queen.

With all her experience working on an action themed teleserye, the actress also has worked with a lot of stuntmen and stuntwomen behind the camera. Angel Locsin has always been so vocal of her admiration an utmost respect to these unsung heroes behind the scenes and on Iba Yan’s latest episode, she put on the spotlight on the stories of these people who shed tears and blood, literally, for their job and their passion.

On the said episode, Angel Locsin catch up with her Tatay Val, Val Iglesias, a legendary stunt director whom she worked with in some of her projects. Val Iglesias who has been in business for four decades talked about his humble beginnings as a stuntman to being a stunt director and a trainer.

“Tinetrain ko sila hindi lang yung sa larangan ng aksyon, sa mga technique, sa fight scene, tinuturo ko rin sa kanila na ‘pag walang camera ‘yung maging action star din kayo katulad ni Angel Locsin.”

“Si Angel ‘pag nakita mo makipag fight sa pelikula at teleserye makikita mo ‘yung galing nya pero nakikita mo rin ang pag-aksyon nya pag kailangan syang tumulong” he added.
