#MetroSocietyInspiringPeople: Angel Locsin as an insipiration and a role model.




Angel Locsin is one of the most sought after actresses of her generation. With numerous characters she portrayed, she’s become a household name that’s well-loved by public.


She is a true definition of a celebrity and an influencer. She dominated pop cultural landscape through her box-office movies, top-rated TV shows, and sold-out fashion spreads. Aside from being admired because of her acting prowess, her popularity is matched by the admiration she gains from her humanitarian efforts over the past decade.




On her interview with Metro Society as one of Metro Society Inspiring people, Angel Locsin revealed that she became actively involved in helping others when typhoon Ondoy hit the country. It is when she realized that she has more than what she needs while others have nothing left as they were badly affected by the typhoon.


Since then, she has been actively volunteering her time to some of Red Cross’ initiative and spearheading some projects every time the country is facing a disaster or a calamity like Shop and Share and #UniTENTweStandPH among others.


She has received tons of recognition for being a humanitarian and for everything that she’s done for the society however, the actress shared that she doesn’t think of what people would say or think of her and she’s just doing what she think is right.

“Hindi talaga ako nagfofocus kung anong iisipin sa akin ng tao, kung anong magiging image ko, actually hindi ko alam kung anong image ko and gusto ko maretain ng ganon. Ayokong umabot sa point na iniisip ko ‘yung sarili ko, kung anong dapat maging tingin sa akin ng tao. Basta ako, gusto ko lang gawin kung ano ‘yung tingin kong tama, hindi sana ako makaoffend, hindi ako makasakit, at sana marami pa akong matutunan sa mga seniors ko, willing akong matuto”


Angel Locsin is indeed an inspiring woman. With everything that she’s been doing for others and how she stand-up for what she thinks is right, she is indeed someone we should look up to and emulate.

The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans.
