Metro Society honors Angel Locsin as one of Metro Society Inspiring People alongside Mayor Isko Moreno and more!




You probably have heard or read about a number of recognitions Angel Locsin received for being a humanitarian and a philanthropist. She is in fact one of Forbes Asia’s Heroes of Philanthropist as announced on their official website and published on their December 2019 issue. And though she always downplays her relief efforts and generosity towards others, it is without a doubt that she is one of the most inspiring women in the country and a rightful person to be one of Metro Society Inspiring People.


Metro Society Inspiring People recognizes personalities who have been an inspiration to others through their extraordinary humanitarian efforts and public service which became more evident now that we are facing an unprecedented health crisis.




Angel Locsin who has been a constant humanitarian and philanthropist since way back belongs to the roster of these inspiring people. On her exclusive interview for Metro Society, the actress revealed that the realization that she has more than what she needs while others doesn’t made her go above and beyond her ways to help others.


“I remember kung kailan talaga ako naging active is nung Ondoy. Nakita ko may mga extra ako na gamit tapos marami sa mga kakilala ko ‘yung nawalan talaga, ‘yung walang walang wala, nalimas talaga ng baha ‘yung mga naipundar nila. Dun ako nagsimula na parang na-guilty ako, meron akong extra pero maraming walang wala kaya ginawa ko, dun na siguro nagsimula.”


Since then, the actress has been unstoppable in helping others. She never hesitated to fly to areas hit by calamities like that of the series of earthquakes in Mindanao, war on Marawi, and typhoon Tisoy in Samar among others.

As for her reasons why she’s doing all these, the actress simply said

“Narealize ko na wala naman kasing dahilan para hindi kumilos. Ito’y isang obligasyon natin bilang tao sa kapawa natin, pagaanin ang buhay ng isa’t-isa. Wala akong nakikitang ibang dahilan or kung kailangan ba ng dahilan para gumawa ng tama. Walang excuse.”


Angel Locsin is a real-life Angel indeed. From being a superhero onscreen, she now lives to be the real-life hero we all need and look up to.

Mayor Isko to Angel Locsin, “Mabasa ka sana ng ulan para dumami ka pa.”

City of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was filled with so much gratitude as he thanked those people for their outpouring support to the city of Manila via donations and to those who have provided assistance including the philanthropic actress Angel Locsin and her fiancé Neil Arce. The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

Angel Locsin lists down donated goods to Taal victims, thanks donors and volunteers!

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans. On her Instagram post, the actress expressed her gratitude to more than 100 volunteers who helped them repack food packs and hygiene kits.
