Iba Yan hosted by Angel Locsin now has an online charity show with Dimples Romana!




Every Sunday, ABS-CBN shares stories and struggles of some Filipinos in the country amid the pandemic through their public-service oriented show Iba Yan hosted by none other than Ms. Angel Locsin, the action drama queen and one of Forbes Asia’s Heroes of Philanthropy 2019. Now on its 14th week, Iba Yan has shed light to the stories of jeepney drivers, displaced LGBTQ+ performers, and exploited women among others.


The show isn’t just about sharing these people’s heart-tugging and touching life stories, it also brings hope — that amid everything that they’re going through, someone out there is ready to help. They do not come empty-handed, they always bring something that can help them get through a day or two sometimes going above and beyond what’s expected of them like organizing an online concert for the benefit of displaced LGBTQ+ performers.


Just recently, Iba Yan introduced a way viewers can participate in helping these people whose stories were featured on their show. IbaYanihan, an online charity show hosted by Dimples Romana which airs online during the show’s commercial break aims to raise additional donations for the benefit of the people featured on that specific episode. There are also some special appearances from some of our favorite Kapamilya singers who sing their hearts out to serenade the viewers.

City of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was filled with so much gratitude as he thanked those people for their outpouring support to the city of Manila via donations and to those who have provided assistance including the philanthropic actress Angel Locsin and her fiancé Neil Arce. The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Amongst many personalities who spoke up against the government order to close ABS-CBN's broadcast operations, Philanthropic actress Angel Locsin also disapproves of the decision as it will cost even more Filipinos their livelihood. “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik,” she said on her Instagram story. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

Angel Locsin lists down donated goods to Taal victims, thanks donors and volunteers!

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans. On her Instagram post, the actress expressed her gratitude to more than 100 volunteers who helped them repack food packs and hygiene kits.
