Angel Locsin and team Iba Yan surprise Pandesal Heroes Jane and Renz with gifts




It is in this time of pandemic that we see people come together to help one another. One great example is how celebrities come together to contribute to the projects spearheaded by Angel Locsin like #UniTENTweStandPH and Shop and Share. It is now more than ever that we see humanity amongst each other just like the Bread of Salt initiative launched by Atty. Marvin Aceron.


Bread of Salt initiative started through the efforts of Atty. Marvin Aceron and his wife. They give free pandesal to families daily in this time of pandemic. They decided to publicized their initiative by creating a Facebook page to encourage others who are privileged enough to do the same. Angel Locsin and team Iba Yan find the idea really smart and decided to replicate the initiative.




On its 13th episode, Angel Locsin went to Astor St. in North Fairview and met Tatay Edwin and Nanay Judith and their eight children. The couple shared how they struggled in making ends meet in this time never did they know that meeting Angel Locsin and team Iba Yan will change everything for them. They are one of the beneficiaries of Bread of Salt initiative and also received few more gifts from the show.


To make Bread of Salt initiative possible, team Iba Yan looked for panaderos who are willing to make 800 pandesals daily. They found Jane and Renz who committed to supply 800 pandesals daily for an entire month to be delivered to 160 families who reside in Astor St. in North Fairview.


Aside from getting a guaranteed income for one month for their service, Iba Yan surprised them with gifts. For Jane, they gifted her school supplies for her children and relief bags and ligtas bags and Renz received smartphone for him and his family back in Masbate and new baking equipment courtesy of cristobal enterprises!

The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

Angel Locsin lists down donated goods to Taal victims, thanks donors and volunteers!

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans. On her Instagram post, the actress expressed her gratitude to more than 100 volunteers who helped them repack food packs and hygiene kits.
