Zonta Club of Makati and Environs Foundation INC honors Angel Locsin for her outstanding contribution and volunteerism in times of crisis.




Zonta International is a global organization of executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy. The said organization has 30, 000 members that belong to more than 1,200 Zonta clubs in 63 countries and geographic areas one of which is Zonta Club of Makati and Environs.


Zonta Club of Makati and Environs is a nonstock, nonprofit foundation that served the depressed communities in Makati for almost 20 years. It is dedicated to help the community; they conduct free medical and dental services, provide variety of services for disadvantaged woman such as food vending for livelihood, family-planning, free legal advice, adult literacy programs, and skills training for women's economic empowerment among others.




Angel Locsin, one of the most prominent philanthropic actresses we've known today was awarded Centennial Champion Award by the said organization for her outstanding contribution and volunteerism in times of crisis like those in Marawi, Taal, during typhoons and earthquakes and amid the pandemic among others.


On her Instagram account, the actress thanked Zonta Club of Makati for making her a part of their event where she met inspiring women virtually. She posted a photo of the award presented to her with a caption that reads:

 “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.”

City of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was filled with so much gratitude as he thanked those people for their outpouring support to the city of Manila via donations and to those who have provided assistance including the philanthropic actress Angel Locsin and her fiancé Neil Arce. The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans.
