South City Hospital and Medical Center thanks Angel Locsin and #UniTENTweStandPH for the isolation tents!
With the goal of protecting our health workers by helping some hospitals have more space for people who needs special care and medication, #UniTENTweStandPH was launched.
In 24 hours, the team has raised 1 million pesos through their gogetfunding account. Angel Locsin and Neil Arce started putting up isolation tents to beneficiary hospitals 2 days after #UniTENTweStandPH was launched. The campaign received an overwhelming support from the people that in two weeks, they raised almost 11M pesos.
One of the beneficiary hospitals who received isolation tents is South City Hospital and Medical Center in Bacoor Cavite. To express their gratitude, they created a simple appreciation video featuring photos of Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team while setting up the tents in hospital premises.
Angel Locsin has been very hands-on with the projects she’s launched since the onset of the pandemic. With her fiancé always by her side, they are both at the ground zero building tents with their team and did not stop until all deliverables were accomplished.
With the amount that the team raised, they were able to donate more than 200 tents to 135 hospitals in the metro and in neighboring provinces. This sure is a great help especially now that COVID-19 cases in the country continue to increase and few hospitals are once again operating at full or overcapacity.
The fight against the pandemic is far from being over. With the increasing number of the positive cases and our hospitals operating at full/over capacity, it is best that we take extra care and take precautionary measures like boosting our immune system, practicing proper hygiene, wearing of facemasks, and most importantly, staying at home as much as we can.
