Netizens commend Iba Yan for giving spotlight to drag queens!




On the 8th episode of Iba Yan, Angel Locsin and team bring back the sparkle to our drag queens. They provided a platform for these queens to perform through an online concert called "Kinang".


It is not just a simple concert as it is also a fund raising campaign for the displaced LGBTQ+ amid the pandemic. Aside from the online benefit concert, the episode itself is dedicated to tell the stories of these Queens.


Angel Locsin chats with Drag Playhouse PH founder Jan Lamban and member Ian Jaurigue at a place very close to their hearts. The drag artists share how they discovered their love for their craft and talk about the challenges that the LGBTQIA+ community continues to face. Angel then gives a surprise visit to Thammy Gan, one of the pioneers of drag in the Philippines and brought with her some gifts to help her amid the pandemic.


Angel Locsin and team did not stop there and on Iba Yan's 9th episode, they once again put the spotlight on our LGBTQ+ friends and shared the stories of inspiring queens. Following the success of "Kinang: An Online Celebration of Philippine Drag," Angel Locsin shares more of her meaningful conversations with Filipino drag queens who participated in the event.




Omiko Madali sits down with Angel and recounts how her loved ones embraced her identity, while Daniel "Cherry Pie" Padilla Magbanua Jr. talks about his humble beginnings as an impersonator. Precious Paula Nicole discusses how paying attention to the smallest details helped him master his craft and Jan Lamban describes his family's reaction to his grand coming out. Before the episode ends, Angel hands over the money raised from the online fundraising show to the representatives of Drag Playhouse PH.

City of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was filled with so much gratitude as he thanked those people for their outpouring support to the city of Manila via donations and to those who have provided assistance including the philanthropic actress Angel Locsin and her fiancé Neil Arce. The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

Angel Locsin lists down donated goods to Taal victims, thanks donors and volunteers!

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans.
