Maris Racal raise 30,000 funds for Shop and Share’s COVID-19 Testing Initiative!




On June 2, Angel Locsin and Anne Curtis relaunched “Shop and Share,” to raise funds that will be used to purchase CoVid-19 test kits and allow more testing opportunities for the underprivileged affected by the pandemic. This time, Dimples Romana and Bea Alonzo also help out in the project which was an initiative Angel and Anne started in 2009 to help those who were affected by Typhoon Ondoy.


Many celebrities and big personalities supported the campaign by donating their personal items from designer bags, jewelry, and clothes, among others. Some of them even sold their pre-loved items themselves to make it less effort for the Shop and Share team, pledging all the proceeds to the project.


And because of the overwhelming they received, not even a full 24 hours since its opening, Shop and Share has raised over P700,000 from the sold products donated by their celebrity friends like Ogie and Regine Alcasid, Bea Alonzo, Vice Ganda, Liza Soberano, Karla Estrada, Vhong Navarro, Pia Wurtzbach, Vicky Belo among others.


Two weeks after its launch, ‘Shop and Share’ announced that they have officially begun and were able to provide 600 Covid-19 test kits for some of our stranded kababayans. Angel shared this good news on Instagram and thanked those who have supported the fundraiser.


Meanwhile, there are also celebrities who got inspired by them and decided to help out by selling their pre-loved items themselves and donating the proceeds to the project. One of them is the Kapamilya star Maris Racal, who thoughtfully consider how a lot of work is there already on her celeb Ate’s plate and chose to do the online selling herself. A month later, Shop and Share announced on its social media accounts that the young star raised P30,000 funds for Shop and Share’s COVID-19 Testing Initiative!

City of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was filled with so much gratitude as he thanked those people for their outpouring support to the city of Manila via donations and to those who have provided assistance including the philanthropic actress Angel Locsin and her fiancé Neil Arce. The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans.
