Kim Chiu donates 1,500 food packs, raises P300k for Shop and Share’s COVID-19 Testing Initiative!




Thanks to Bawal Lumabas Merch, what started as an internet gaffe has become a blessing for Kim Chiu and to families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic that she was able to donate 1,500 food packages to, as well to Shop and Share project, the beneficiary of P300,000 fund for mass testing that she raised by selling her “Bawal Lumabas” merchandise.


“Thank you po sa lahat ng sumuporta sa #bawallumabasmerch we were able to give food package sa 1,500 families and 300 thousand pesos for mass testing donated to shop and share!” Chiu shared on an Instagram post.

“Journey was like a roller coaster ride but Im glad it ended this way,” she also added.


The “Shop and Share” that Chiu was referring to is the fundraising project spearheaded by Angel Locsin and Anne Curtis which aims to help underprivileged Filipinos get tested for COVID-19.

Dimples Romana also takes part in said initiative which was originally launched by Curtis and Locsin in 2009 to help the victims of Typhoon Ondoy.




Kim also documented how she was able to raise funds with her merchandise through her vlog post uploaded on YouTube Monday where Angel, Anne and Dimples also made an appearance.

“Sobrang laki ng tulong, as in nawindang kami talaga nung nalaman namin kung magkano yung ido-donate mo, kaya maraming salamat, marami kang matutulungan,” Anne said pertaining to Kim’s huge donation.


“Saka Kim gusto ko lang sabihin na lahat kami ay magdadasal na mas dumami pa ang blessings mo and that you will have good health and protection all the time, kase alam ko very giving talaga ang heart mo. Kahit even before this pandemic, i already know you to be somebody who really gives to everyone who needs it,”. Dimples also told Kim.


Angel also thanked Kim for choosing Shop and Shared and said, “Pinaguusapan namin nila Anne na basta magtulungan lang tayo kahit na anong hirap yung kinakaharap natin. Alam nating malalampasan, pero mas madaling malampasan kung tayo’y tulungan. Kim, maraming maraming salamat sa kabutihan ng puso mo. Thank you for choosing Shop and Share.”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims.
