Angel Locsin pens an open letter as a taxpayer; raises questions about government’s priorities amid pandemic.
Angel Locsin has been very vocal in expressing her opinion about what’s happening in our society. She’s also been very vocal of her support to her home network that’s been facing a lot of challenges lately.
On the day of its 10th hearing about its franchise and a day after NTC issues another cease and desist order versus Sky Cable and ABS-CBN TV plus, the actress pens an open letter as a taxpayer citing some questions about the government’s priorities amid the pandemic.
Addressed to “whom it may concern” she wrote “Make sure you have plans for the many workers & business owners who lost their income. Ang daming time pag-initan ang ABS, i- prioritize pa ang re-naming ng airport, anti terrorist bill,pero ang kailangang marinig ay plano tungkol sa Covid & frontliners, plano sa edukasyon para sa mahihirap na walang access sa internet o magtuturo sa bahay, balik probinsya, OFW’s na stranded sa ibang bansa, kabuhayan ng nawalan ng trabaho,paano na ang tradisyunal na jeepney drivers? paano ang mga senior citizens? at sa kung anong kakaharapin ng masang Pilipino pagkatapos ng pandemya.

Her open letter made headlines in various micro-blogging sites and news portals and has been reposted more than a thousand times. It also stirs conversation about the matter and has gained mix reactions from the Netizens.
Aside from being a a diligent taxpayer, Angel Locsin has been proactively helping the community since time immemorial especially in this time of crisis. Since the onset of the pandemic, she showed her genuine concern to the people especially the frontliners and health workers from providing a sleeping quarter for the frontliners of Taguig, helping hospitals solve overcrowding through a funddrive called #UniTENTweStandPH and the still ongoing Shop and Share that aims to help increase the testing capacity in the country.
