Angel Locsin, Kathryn Bernardo and some Kapamilya stars who joined the caravan to show support to ABS-CBN.
ABS-CBN has been fighting for their franchise for the longest time. It took them 12 hearings to clear every allegations thrown at them, the longest to date and even after coming clean in front of the lower house backed by the statements of concerned government agencies, they have unfortunately been denied of a fresh franchise.
ABS-CBN has just been denied of a fresh 25-year franchise last July 10, 2020. 70 representatives voted against the issuance of a new franchise inhibiting the network to air on free TV.
On that said day, ABS-CBN employees and supporters hold a caravan from Mother Ignacia St. to House of Representatives hoping that their cries be heard. Some Kapamilya stars who did not hesitate to show support to the network and scratched a day off their schedule and attended the caravan are Piolo Pascual, Elisse Joson, RK Bagatsing, Nikki Valdez, Vice Ganda, Kathryn Bernardo and Angel Locsin. Each of them have their own pleas with one goal, to support the network who gave them the platform to be known and to be where they are right now.
"Give us a chance to be better" that's what written on Angel Locsin's banner. Unfortunately, 70 representatives think that they shouldn't be given a chance and voted against the franchise.
It has surely been a heart-breaking day for the network, its employees and supporters but just like what they say, it doesn't end there. After the franchise was voted upon, the network's employees and supporters are holding noise barrages along Mother Ignacia St. hoping that their voice will finally be heard.
