Tatay Elmer of PISTON 6 thanks Angel Locsin for helping them.

These past few days was definitely tough for the six jeepney operators who were imprisoned because of GCQ protocol violation when they protested last June 2. These six jeepney operators called for the resumption of their operation after lockdown in Metro Manila was lifted to GCQ from ECQ.

These helpless jeepney operators were kept behind bars for more than 5 days. The release of the resolution for them to post a bail has been delayed that they have to stay behind bars over the weekend. Netizens stepped-up and chipped-in to help these helpless drivers and their families while they’re imprisoned. Some celebrities like Angel Locsin, Bea Alonzo and I am Hope org also extended their helping hand and sent some necessities for PISTON 6.

Last Monday, 4 out of 6 drivers were released after posting a bail. 2 of them, Tatay Elmer who is already 72 years old, were kept for another day because they had a police hit, they found a pending case under the same exact name and that needs to be verified. Thankfully, two of those who were retained for a day were released last tuesday, June 9.

After being released, Tatay Elmer sent his utmost gratitude to Angel Locsin for sending them necessities while they’re behind bars. On a video posted on Twitter, with so much gratitude in his heart, Tatay Elmer said “Maraming salamat Angel Locsin sa lahat ng itinutulong mo sa aming suporta sa loob ng kulungan pati ‘yung gamot tsaka alocohol. Lahat kumpleto, lahat ng mga tulong mo, maraming maraming salamat”

Unfortunately, with the current GCQ protocol, they are still not allowed to operate. If you wish to send help, you may check-out this link for details. https://www.facebook.com/111246743611349/posts/301854627883892/?d=n
