Mark Bautista sells his own paintings to help Shop and Share raise funds in support for mass testing!
Since the coronavirus outbreak, the world urged self-isolation in order to help flatten the curve and reduce transmission. The Philippine government placed the country on lockdown on March 17 and was gradually lifted to a less stricter preventive quarantine, Metro Manila being the last to transition to general community quarantine effective June 1. Ever since, many celebrities are stepping up to help in their own ways.
Angel Locsin was one of the most admirable for putting up a fund raiser campaign called #UniTentWeStandPH which provided aid to health care workers and other CoVid-19 frontliners. But just as how we expected it, Angel isn’t stopping her Darna duties anytime soon. She is now working hand in hand with Anne Curtis, Dimples Romana and Bea Alonzo in another fundraiser called “Shop and Share” to help in the efforts to provide additional CoVid testing kits for the underprivileged affected by the pandemic.
Angel and her team once again are humbly reaching out to her friends and colleagues in showbiz to revisit the idea of artists coming together. And just like how it tremendously helped those affected by Typhoon Ondoy in 2009, its success today will not be a surprise as many celebrities and big personalities have joined forces with the project; some donated their personal items from designer bags, jewelry, and clothes, among others, and were put up on sale while others like the multi-talented singer Mark Bautista sells their own items (his paintings) and pledged the proceeds to ‘Shop and Share.’
On Instagram, Bautista shared the backstory of how his willingness to help restored his artistic side and how he came up with the idea of auctioning off his recent artworks and those from 10 years ago.
