'Iba Yan' pilot episode features heartwarming and inspiring true stories of Filipinos amid COVID-19 pandemic!
Last Sunday, Angel Locsin’s newest show ‘Iba Yan’ premiered on the Kapamilya Channel featuring true stories of inspiring Filipinos helping their fellowmen amid the coronavirus crisis.
Her best friend Dimples Romana also joined in their mission to help these inspiring people to further their causes through donations and/or connecting them to government services and other good samaritans.
The pilot episode kicked off with a story of Marco Cañeda, a cute eight year-old Tiktoker from Talisay, Cebu. His love for dancing gives light and happiness to his parents and other people who see him enjoying what he loves to do. And like his idol, Vice Ganda, he is totally a ball of sunshine and a loving good hearted son.
“Ang idol ko si Vice Ganda dahil matalino siya at napakabait. Inalagaan niya ang kanyang pamilya. Balang araw paglaki ko, ako ang mag-aalaga sa aking pamilya katulad ni Vice,” he said not expecting that he’s going to have a chance to talk with Vice via virtual conference with Angel and Dimples. Not only that, after their short talk, Vice Ganda promised to give him a gift that would help him in his studies. “Gusto mo ng cellphone? Sige papadalahan kita ng cellphone para makatulong sa pag-aaral mo diyan. Masaya ako na na-meet ko si Marco,” Vice said.
The next story featured a bike shop owner, Fe Carandang who gifted an elderly street vendor a mountain bike. Her act of kindness was caught on a video and went viral that tugged the hearts of the “Iba Yan” team who offered to repay her twice the price of the bike which she donated to
87-year-old Carlos Samonte.
On the video, Tatay Carlos was asking if he could buy the mountain bike which originally costs P4,500 for only P2,000. Mrs. Carandang agreed on letting him have the bike after finding out that the elderly man has been passing by the store everyday since May 15 asking if they have an available bike. She also returned the the two thousand bills that Tatay Carlos handed her.
Meanwhile, the show also told the heartwarming story of a PWD delivery rider Neil Garcia from Baguio City who despite his condition continues to be a provider to his family and a front liner. To his surprise, Angel informed him that ‘Iba Yan’ will shoulder the balance of his new motorcycle.
Putting the spotlight on Bayanihan, Angel and ‘Iba Yan’ team with the help of Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno, surprised Fr. Flavie Villanueva with donations and support he needs to further the cause of his Bahay Kalinga, a center that shelters the homeless and gives the poor the chance to find dignity and create their own self-worth.
We also witnessed the extraordinary story of Engr. Albert Pizarro, who invented the innovative 'foot-tap' alcohol dispenser and also provided job opportunities to many.
"Iba 'Yan,” airs every Sunday at 6:15 p.m on the Kapamilya Channel! Don’t miss next week’s episode!
