Have you ever wondered why actress Angel Locsin is consistent and passionate on helping others? Here’s why.

“Pag nag-focus ka kasi sa mga bagay na hindi tungkol sa iyo, malaking epekto ‘yun sa mental health mo, sa sarili mo, tapos mapapansin mo na lang masaya ka na pala,” actress philanthropist Angel Locsin emphasized in a virtual press conference on Saturday, June 13, for her docu-reality show ‘Iba Yan’ which debuted last Sunday on Kapamilya Channel. It was her first foray into hosting and first time working with her fiancé Neil Arce, the director of the show.


According to Angel, money can’t buy the happiness you get from helping others, that seeing them smile is enough to bring her the satisfaction and drive to do more. “Kung meron kang nakitang taong nabago ang buhay o mapangiti mo lang kahit papaano, gagaan din ‘yung loob mo. ‘Di mababayaran ‘yan ng kahit anong TF (talent fee),” she said.




“Isa lang akong simpleng tao, ‘di ako bilyonaryo, ‘di ako mayaman. Hindi rin lagi ako ang nauuna. Siguro din lagi akong nagkakaroon ng coverage kasi kilala ka. Madalas napi-picturan ng tao pero naniniwala ako na mas maraming tao pa ‘yung mas active sa field na hindi binibigyan ng importance talaga,” she also noted. Angel also stressed that ‘Iba Yan’ isn’t about her or what she has done, but rather giving the limelight to others who have shown generosity and selflessness especially during this pandemic.


Angel Locsin is no doubt a person for others. In the local entertainment industry, she’s been known as one of the most responsive and supportive of people who are in need of aid; hailed as one of Forbes Asia’s Heroes of Philanthropy for her relief efforts during calamities and one of Philippine Tatler Magazine’s Heroes of Crisis’ for playing a vital role in the country’s collective effort to flatten the COVID-19 curve.

Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans.
