Angel Locsin calls to #FreePiston6 anew.
These past few days are far from being a great day for 6 jeepney operators who were jailed because of protesting. These six jeepney operators of PISTON called the attention of the authorities to allow them to operate amid General community quarantine. The turn of events did not go in their favor and instead, they were put behind bars for violating GCQ protocols.
One of these six jeepney operators that were jailed was Lolo Elmer, a 72 year old man. Together with five other operators, they were kept imprisoned for more than three days now and as per the Caloocan police chief, they will not be released until they post a bail.
With this, Angel Locsin can’t help but air out her support for these drivers. As what we’ve previously reported, the actress calls for the release of PISTON operators last Friday and asked for “Puso at Konsiderasyon” for them.
On Saturday, after learning that the authorities did not release the resolution, the actress called to #FreePiston6 anew. On her instagram account the actress wrote “Caloocan, what’s happening?” The actress pointed out the unfair treatment to the operators compared to ECQ violators who were given a free pass and compassion “Yung iba house arrest lang kasi mayaman? Yung iba intindihin na lang kahit malinaw na lumabag sa social distancing?” she said.”Anong inantay nyo pa at bakit hindi pa mailabas ‘yung resolution? Inaantay nyo pang magkasakit si Tatay?” she added.
Today is another day and we’re still waiting for the decision of Caloocan police on the fate of these six jeepney operators. We join the call to #FreePiston6 now!
