Angel Locsin, Bea Alonzo and I AM HOPE org send help to ‘PISTON 6’
In the midst of the pandemic where everyone's livelihood were affected one way or the other, six men who only want nothing but to be able to provide food for their family were sent to jail. As we all know, because of the Enhanced Community Quarantine, mass transportation were suspended and these drivers have nothing but the assistance from the local and national government. Last Tuesday, June 2, six jeepney operators of PISTON including a 72 year old man, Tatay Elmer were arrested for violating GCQ protocols during a protest held to call for the resumption of their operation after lockdown in Metro Manila eases.
After the news about what happened to PISTON6 broke the internet, Angel Locsin has been very vocal of her support for the jeepney operators. She bravely called for their release especially Tatay Elmer. Not only that, the actress, with Bea Alonzo and I AM HOPE org also sent essential products like facemask, alcohol. energy drink, vitamins and more.
On a post shared by @pistonph on twitter, they expressed their gratitude to the actress and to everyone who shared their blessings. On the same post are the photos of some items that were sent to the drivers and a note that reads "Kapit lang at magdasal. Hahanap po kami ng paraan na makapagpadala din sa inyong pamilya"
