Angel Locsin, Anne Curtis, Jericho Rosales and other big stars sell pre-loved items to help fight COVID-19!
Since the coronavirus outbreak, the world urged self-isolation in order to help flatten the curve and reduce transmission. The Philippine government placed the country on lockdown on March 17 and was gradually lifted to a less stricter preventive quarantine, Metro Manila being the last to transition to general community quarantine effective June 1. Ever since, many celebrities are stepping up to help in their own ways.
And here are some of our local big stars who let go of their pre-loved items to help fight the CoVid-19.
Angel Locsin hailed as one of Forbes Asia’s Heroes of Philanthropy for her proactive relief efforts during calamities, this time is no different as she spearheaded a project called #UniTENTweStandPH to provide aid to health care workers and CoVid-19 front liners.
She also joined forces with her celebrity friends and relaunched her decade old campaign “Shop and Share” to support the need for mass testing in the country where she put up her 2015 Dodge Durango car for sale. The charitable actress also donated other pre-loved items that have all been sold out.
Despite being in Australia with her family, Anne Curtis, who co-founded Shop and Share, continues to support Angel Locsin in their joint fundraising project. She donated her Chanel Cruise Boy North South Handbag from its 2019 Collection to the campaign among her other collections of bags, shoes and accessories. The said item was sold for P150,000.
Ogie Alcasid also joined the Shop and Share cause and decided to let his toy collection to help flatten the CoVid-19 curve.
Meanwhile, there are also celebrities like Maris Racal who got inspired by Angel and Anne’s advocacy and decided to help out by selling her pre-loved items herself, donating all the proceeds to the project.
Other celebrities who also gave up personal items to help those affected by the pandemic are Jericho Rosales, Heart Evangelista and Matteo Guidicelli among many others.
