Angel Locsin and team Iba Yan surprise Tatay Pablito and Cris with a new fishing boat!





Iba ‘Yan is a magazine show in Kapamilya Channel hosted by Angel Locsin. After their very successful pilot episode which featured different stories of people who shed light and gave hope to the hopeless amid the pandemic, their second episode featured the stories of Tatay Pablito, Cris, and Tatay Ferdie. Three of the hundreds of fishermen in Mauban Quezon whose livelihood were badly affected by the typhoon Ambo that hit the country.


As shared by the three featured fishermen, they were badly affected by typhoon Ambo. Their fishing boats that they rely on for their everyday hustle were washed away by the strong waves caused by the typhoon. Despite all that, they still make a way to make a living and traverse the water on their own feet with the hopes of catching fish on the shallow parts of the sea.





Angel Locsin and team Iba ‘Yan saw these fishermen’s situation. The actress immersed with them, ate with their families, learned about their stories and their struggles, she even tried fishing with them! And just like their pilot episode, team Iba ‘Yan did not come all the way to Mauban empty-handed. They gave Tatay Pablito and Cris a new fishing boat!


“Sobra kaming natuwa nung niregaluhan kami ng bangka. Malaking biyaya ito para sa amin. Malaking tulong para sa aking pamilya. Ngayon pwede kaming makapalaot sa malayo. Siguradong maiiba ang kita ng aming trabaho” says Tatay Pablito.


“Nagpapasalamat din kami sa Panginoon na hindi namin sumat-dalangin na para sa amin ‘yan.” says Cris

“Nagpapasalamat po kay Mam Angel, biniyayaan po ako ng hindi lang para sa akin, para rin sa asawa ko at sa magiging baby namin.” he added.

The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans.
