Angel Locsin and the ‘Iba Yan’ team shoulder the balance of a delivery rider’s motorcycle!




Angel Locsin’s newest show “Iba Yan” premiered on the Kapamilya Channel last Sunday, June 14, putting the spotlight on modern day heroes whose stories showcase the inspiring Filipino values of “pagkamaparaan,” “katatagan,” and “bayanihan” amid the pandemic crisis.

We witnessed true stories of Filipinos helping our fellow countrymen in this difficult time and one of them is the heartwarming story of a PWD delivery rider, Neil Garcia from Baguio City who despite his condition continues to be a provider to his family and a front liner.


“Two years na rin po akong nagdedeliver. Sa mga pinagdaanan kong trabaho, ito para sa akin ay mas magaan. Ito ang nakakapagprovide ng pangangailangan ng pamilya ko, at dito rin ako kumukuha ng binibigay ko para sa mga nangangailanan,” he shared.


Garcia said that he got into an accident and due to severe infection, surgeons had to amputate his leg. “Nung pinutol na nila yung paa ko, mahirap kasi hindi ko na alam kung anong gagawin ko, kung paano ako magsisimula. Pakiramdam ko wala na akong magagawa, na magiging pabigat na ako.”




“Lumipas ang ilang buwan, sinubukan kong gawin yung mga nagagawa ng isang normal na tao. Unti unti ko namang nakukuha hanggang sa napunta ako sa pagiging isang delivery rider. Sobrang takot ko dahil hindi ko alam kung kaya ko pa bang magmotor ulit. Nawala yung kaba ko nung nakita kong kaya ko,” he added.


Showcasing the fighting spirit and unshakable faith of a Filipino, Garcia also said, “Kahit na ganito yung nangyari sa akin, inisip ko na talagang ibinigay ito sa’kin kasi alam ng Panginoon na kaya ko.”


To his surprise, Angel informed him via video conference that ‘Iba Yan’ will shoulder the balance of his new motorcycle as a way to thank him for being a front liner and for sharing his inspiring story.

Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans.
