4 of the Piston 6 drivers undergo Covid-19 swab test. Thanks Angel Locsin and Shop and Share for helping them!





Earlier this month, we have witnessed the story of the six jeepney drivers who hold a protest amid General Community Quarantine. These six jeepney operators called for the resumption of their operation after lockdown in Metro Manila was lifted to GCQ from ECQ. Unfortunately, the odds were not on their favor as they were detained for violating GCQ protocols instead.


These helpless jeepney operators were kept behind bars for more than 5 days. The release of the resolution for them to post a bail has been delayed that they have to stay behind bars longer. Netizens stepped-up and chipped-in to help these helpless drivers and their families while they’re imprisoned. Some celebrities like Angel Locsin, Bea Alonzo and I am Hope org also extended their helping hand and sent some necessities for PISTON 6.


Few days after their release, another sad news has surprised the public, 2 of the Piston 6 tested positive for Covid-19. They chose not to name the drivers but assured that Tatay Elmer, the eldest of the group, is not one of them. Worries arise from this news as they have stayed in a small, tight cell for a couple of days.


In a recent news, Piston 6 reported that 4 other jeepney drivers have undergone swab testing with the help of Shop and Share, a fund raising campaign spearheaded by Angel Locsin, Anne Curtis, and few more colleagues in the industry which aims to help increase the testing capacity in the country. Angel Locsin was even seen in the vicinity of the molecular laboratory during that day!

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims.
