Will Angel Locsin run for a public office? Actress says no to entering politics but will continue doing public service!





Aside from being a great actress, Angel Locsin is well-known for being a humanitarian and a philanthropist. She embodies a real-life Darna who, in times of distress always goes above and beyond in helping others.


She once flew to war-stricken areas in Marawi, personally distributed relief goods to quake-hit areas in Mindanao, extended help to Northern Samar who are badly affected by the typhoon tisoy and more. She has generously shared her resources at times of distress over the past years and today that we are facing a pandemic, she remains to be one of the first ones to respond.


From setting-up air-conditioned sleeping tents for health workers to launching of #UniTENTweStandPH fundraising campaign, the actress and humanitarian works tirelessly for our frontliners and health workers as soon as NCR and some parts of Luzon was declared to be under Enhanced Community Quarantine.




She is very hands-on with these projects especially with #UniTENTweStandPH that she herself, together with her fiance Neil Arce goes around the metro and neighboring provinces to set-up isolation tents.


Apart from these projects, the actress also extends her help to the people who need medical assistance and those who are asking for help as they are badly affected by the current situation.


With everything that she’s been doing, people can’t help but hope that she’ll run for a public office but this idea was immediately dismissed by the actress herself. In the recent live chat with Richard Gutierrez on Regal Entertainment’s Facebook account, when asked about running for public office, Locsin said “Public servant naman po kami bilang mga artista e. I think ‘yung buhay naman namin is very public, lahat naman ‘to ginagawa namin hindi lang para sa sarili namin cause gusto namin magbigay ng entertainment sa mga tao”

“Politics? Hindi talaga. Sobrang hindi. Wala sa utak ko ‘yun”

City of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was filled with so much gratitude as he thanked those people for their outpouring support to the city of Manila via donations and to those who have provided assistance including the philanthropic actress Angel Locsin and her fiancé Neil Arce. The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans.
