"Nilalaban ko lang po kung anong tingin ko pong patas"; Angel Locsin airs opinion on ABS-CBN franchise issue.





On May, 5, 2020, the country's network giant ABS-CBN signed off. This is in accordance to the cease and desist order issued by National Telecommunications Commission. Since then, ABS-CBN employees and artists air their opinion regarding the issue and one of those who has been very vocal of her support to the network is Angel Locsin.


Though in her past Instagram posts it was revealed that the actress haven't renewed her contract to the network yet because of her upcoming wedding, Angel Locsin did not hesitate to show support to the network, her home for more than a decade now. Just recently, Angel Locsin released an 8 min. video explaining her side and calling everyone involved and expressed her plea to grant ABS-CBN an extension while franchise renewal is being tackled in the congress.




“hindi ho ako magco-complain tungkol sa sarili ko, okay ho ako. Dahil ho sa suporta ninyo, hindi man ako kasing yaman ng mga kasabayan ko pero okay ho ako” she said.

“Hindi rin po ako magsasalita tungkol sa serbisyong ibinibigay ng ABS-CBN dahil kusang loob nilang ibinibigay ‘yon,” she added.

“Ang sakin lang ho, kung maipapangako po na ‘yung mga mawawalan ng trabaho sa gitna ng pandemya—kung magkakaroon ho sila ng trabaho na may parehong sweldo, na may parehong benepisyo, dahil ilang taon po ‘yung ibinigay nila don para maabot nila ‘yung estadong ‘yon.. kung meron po, tatahimik po ako.. wala po kayong maririnig sa ‘kin,”


Angel clarified that her plea is nothing against the government "Hindi po ito laban against our government, ang nilalaban ko po dito ay ang mabigyan po ng extension ang prangkisa ng ABS-CBN kagaya ho ng pagbigay ng extension sa ibang kumpanya na nag-expire po ang kanila prangkisa pero na-extend po para dinggin ng kongreso ang kanilang mga kaso. 'Yun lamang po. Nilalaban ko lang po kung anong tingin ko pong patas, kung anong pantay-pantay dahil naniniwala rin po ako dyan."

The actress also asked the congress, the NTC, and SolGen Calida a fair chance for ABS-CBN to defend themselves in proper forum.

The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans.
