GMA-7's 12 top rated teleseryes of all time include Angel Locsin's Darna, Mulawin and Asian Treasures!





A teleserye or any show in particular claims a success over its rival if they get higher ratings than the other. Ratings were measured through a third party market research firm like AGB Nielsen and Kantar Media. Way back 2008, AGB Nielsen released a list of the highest rated shows of all time and on 2012, they released an updated list setting the bar at a 40 percent and above rating for a single episode. Pep.ph listed the 12 GMA-7 highest rated teleserye episodes of all time that are in AGB Nielsen's ranking three of which were top billed by our very own Ms. Angel Locsin.

First on the list was Darna 2005. This is the first TV adaptation Mars Ravelo's Darna which is portrayed by Angel Locsin.


The show recorded the highest rated pilot episode of any TV show that garnered 47.1%. On its fourth episode, the show soared even higher and recorded a new all time high ratings at 52.1%. GMA-7 records' show that this is its highest rated episode however, AGB Nielsen records indicate that the show garnered 54.3% on one of its episodes making it the 18th most watched Filipino TV program of all time.


Another Angel Locsin starrer teleserye that made to the cut is Mulawin which is 4th on the list. It was Locsin's first major role alongside Richard Gutierrez and Dennis Trillo.




Mulawin soared high on rating game beating its rival show garnering 48.6% ratings on one of its episodes making it the 33rd most watched Filipino TV program of all time.


Sitting at the 11th spot of the 12 top rating GMA-7 teleseryes of all time was Asian Treasures starring Angel Locsin and Robin Padilla.


Asian Treasure was the most expensive TV show of GMA-7  in 2007 as it was filmed in Mongolia, China and Thailand. The highest rated episode of the show garnered 41.8% making it the 56th highest-rating Filipino TV program of all time. This is also Locsin's last project as a Kapuso as she decided to take a leap on her career and transferred to Kapamilya network.


Other GMA-7 TV shows that made it to the cut are some of Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes' starrer TV shows like Dyesebel and Marimar, Darna (2009) starring Marian Rivera, Encantadia (2005), Richard Gutierrez's Captain Barbell, Sugo, and Codename Asero.

Mayor Isko to Angel Locsin, “Mabasa ka sana ng ulan para dumami ka pa.”

City of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was filled with so much gratitude as he thanked those people for their outpouring support to the city of Manila via donations and to those who have provided assistance including the philanthropic actress Angel Locsin and her fiancé Neil Arce. The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

Angel Locsin lists down donated goods to Taal victims, thanks donors and volunteers!

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans. On her Instagram post, the actress expressed her gratitude to more than 100 volunteers who helped them repack food packs and hygiene kits.
