Darna on the move! Angel Locsin, spotted at Pamarawan Island in Bulacan; actress brought relief goods to the island says residents!




One of Forbes Asia's Heroes of Philanthropy 2019, Angel Locsin, has been very busy helping amid the pandemic. From setting up air-conditioned sleeping tents for the frontliners of Taguig, the very successful #UniTENTweStandPH launched to help solve overcrowding in hospitals and the relaunching of Shop and Share to support the efforts of mass testing in the country, she never runs out of ideas and ways to help.


We have known everything about these efforts through Locsin herself. She consistently provides progress report on her Instagram account to keep the donors updated on the spending and accounting of the donations received. What we don't know is, apart from all these that she has been doing, Angel works silently to extend help to isolated areas like the island of Pamarawan in Bulacan.


Just recently, Angel locsin together with her fiance Neil Arce were spotted at the said island. Pamarawan Island is a quaint coastal island in Malolos Bulacan that can only be reached through a 35 - 40 min boat ride.





On a post shared by Chin Erica Mateo Fabian on facebook, she thanked Angel Locsin for the short talk and referred to the actress as "TUNAY AT LITERAL NA DARNA!!!."


Ralph Crimuel Roxas on his facebook account revealed that the actress brought relief goods for the residents of Pamarawan Island.


One of the island residents shared that Angel's visit was unannounced and that she left right after relief goods were handed over "secret dating nya kaya konti lang nakakita tas pagkabgay ngrelief umalis narin agad" Melanie Galman Roxas said.


Angel Locsin is unstoppable when it comes to helping others! A real-life Darna indeed!

City of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was filled with so much gratitude as he thanked those people for their outpouring support to the city of Manila via donations and to those who have provided assistance including the philanthropic actress Angel Locsin and her fiancé Neil Arce. The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans. On her Instagram post, the actress expressed her gratitude to more than 100 volunteers who helped them repack food packs and hygiene kits.
