“Breaks my heart seeing her like this,” Neil Arce says as Angel Locsin mourns the 11,000 job loss due to ABS-CBN closure
The ABS-CBN shutdown ordered by National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) effective immediately stirs the hearts of millions of Filipinos as it will result to unemployment of about 11,000 people who went off the air on TV and radio across the Philippines.
"This is in compliance with the cease and desist order issued by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) today that prohibits ABS-CBN from continuing its broadcast operations effective immediately," the network said in a statement.
Many have spoken up against the untimely decision and actress Angel Locsin is among them whose stance is to protect the livelihood of those 11,000 employees. “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik,” she said on her Instagram followed by a couple of more posts extending her empathy and asking for reconsideration.
Meanwhile, his fiancé Neil Arce went emotional on his post as Angel mourns the job loss of those people she used to work with and considers her family. “Breaks my heart seeing her like this. Angel didnt renew her contract So technically she did Not lose her job. She’s been crying non stop since she saw The News online because she knows 11,000 people lost their jobs. We’ve been under ecq for 2 months now trying to save lives.
Wala pang 10000 ang may covid dito pero ngayon 11,000 na tao ang mawawalan ng trabaho at milyong milyon na Pilipino ang hindi makakatanggap ng quick Information and konting kaligayahan sa mga panahon na ito. NTC you are evil. How dare you take away 11,000 jobs. We Will remember this,” he wrote.
May our cries be heard and justice be served! #LabanABSCBN #NoToABSCBNShutdown
