“Ay naku ‘yan talaga ang Darna ko.” Dimples Romana to Angel Locsin




With everything that she’s been doing lately, people have seen again and again how Angel Locsin is our real-life Darna. After setting-up an air-conditioned sleeping tents for the frontliners of Taguig, she has initiated a campaign that aims to help solve overcrowding in hospitals, the #UniTENTweStandPH. In this campaign, she teamed up with her fiance Neil Arce, her bestfriend Dimples Romana, Gines Sarangaya and Dra Marev Matic.


On her recent Magandang Buhay guesting, Dimples Romana lauds Locsin’s efforts “Ay naku ‘yan talaga ang Darna ko” she said.

Dimples also gave a little background about the campaign “Sinimulan kasi ni Gel ‘yan para sa mga frontliners talaga kasi ang dami kasi na wala na silang natutulugan tapos ‘yung ibang mga pasyente hindi na natitignan sa ospital kasi ‘pag may Covid sa loob hanggat maari iniiwasan talaga nila.”

“Angel was able to raise a little over 11M in 19 days” she added.




Dimples also commend Angel and Neil for personally going to the hospitals to make sure that the tents were delivered and perfectly set-up “Si Gel at si Neil really went to the hospital. Sila talaga. Ayaw nila akong ipasama kasi alam ni Gel may senior ako dito meron din akong mga anak so.”

“Walang pagod ‘yung dalawang ‘yun. Bilib na bilib talaga ako wala kang makikitang bahid ng reklamo, walang pagod, hindi nila ininda.”


Momshie Karla whom as per Dimples reached out to the team as early as the campaign was launched refer to Angel and Neil as the frontliners of those who wants to extend a helping hand “Kumbaga sa mga taong gustong tumulong sila ‘yung frontliners namin. Para makarating yung tulong na gusto naming makarating, thank God nandyan si Angel at saka si Neil kasi mas madali kong maiabot yung gusto kong iparating (na tulong)”


#UniTENTweStandPH concluded after being able to donate over 200 tents to 135 hospitals in the metro and neighboring provinces. To date, Angel Locsin, Anne Curtis, Dimples Romana, Bea Alonzo and some of their friends in the industry are gearing towards a new campaign which this time aims to help out in the efforts to provide mass testing in the country. Mayor Isko to Angel Locsin, “Mabasa ka sana ng ulan para dumami ka pa.”

City of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was filled with so much gratitude as he thanked those people for their outpouring support to the city of Manila via donations and to those who have provided assistance including the philanthropic actress Angel Locsin and her fiancé Neil Arce. The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans.
