Angel Locsin, Bea Alonzo and other Kapamilya stars’ statement over ABS-CBN shutdown.
Last March 10, 2020, NTC Commissioner Gamaliel Cordoba said that they would heed the advice of the Department of Justice (DOJ) to allow the network to operate while its franchise renewal application is pending in Congress. To everyone’s surprise, NTC issued a cease and desist order a day after the network’s franchise expired which drew a lot of reactions from the employees and stars of Kapamilya network.
Angel Locsin who has been very vocal of her support to Kapamilya network wrote on her instagram post “Para sa kapwa.
#NoToABSCBNShutdown”
Kim Chiu did not keep her silence and said “Probably the saddest day in television history. In the middle of a big crisis that we are facing right now... this happened. In a middle of a pandemic. This happened.”
“Today’s news is just heart breaking. I am a kapamilya, through think and thin. Mahal ko kayo” says Bea Alonzo.
Bianca Gonzales expressed how honored she was for being a part of the network and said “In The Service of the Filipno. We remain. Isang karangalan na maging bahagi ng kumpanya na ang puso ay para sa serbisyo sa Pilipino saan man sa mundo”
Seeing the network that’s been a part of our daily lives sign-off is heartbreaking. This is not the last time that we’ll see our favorite Kapamilya stars on TV, this is not the end.
