“You are the Darna, and Darna is you,” Gordon College Publication Unit to Angel Locsin

You are probably seeing a lot of write ups and hearing a lot of people calling the actress Angel Locsin as a real life angel and a real life superhero most notably, THE Darna, even after more than a decade when she portrayed the character on television. You wouldn’t even want us to start because the list would go on for days to enumerate why she really is the real life DARNA we aren’t even sure we deserve.

We all know Angel as a top calibre and multi-awarded actress but we can all agree that there’s more to her than meets eye. She was recognized as a hero of philanthropy by Forbes Asia, a remark she humbly dissented because of the very reason why she’s out there to help, makes her even more admirable.

More often than not, it’s the word of mouth that tells the world how beautiful of a woman she is, inside and out. Never have she ever scream about it from the housetop, like a true Angel sent from above, doing selfless acts oftentimes incognito.

Her relief initiatives and social media mobilization to call for help in times of crisis she’s so consistently does are what makes her the woman worth looking up to and celebrating for the women’s month.

And to cap the women’s month off, The Forefront - the official Student Publication Unit of Gordon College in Olongapo City wrote a tribute to Angel Locsin as one of the heroes of the masses, illustrating her as our one and only Darna.

It rendered Angel Locsin speechless and was only able to say thank you as a reply.

For what it’s worth, it’s totally on point, was beautifully written and definitely sums up all that our hearts can say about her, THE DARNA.
