#UniTENTweStandPH: Angel Locsin and team raise over 9 million pesos in 10 days! Listed 67 beneficiary hospitals as of April 4!
Two weeks into the enhanced community quarantine, COVID-19 confirmed case in the Philippines has sadly gone up to over 3,000 cases already.
Several hospitals have announced that they can no longer accommodate COVID-19 related patients as they are already operating at full or over capacity. For this reason, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their friends launched a fund drive on March 25 which aims to help solve overcrowding in hospitals.
They aim to set up additional tents for patients and the objective is to accommodate more patients who need immediate treatments while also prioritizing the safety of the health workers.
Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team’s crowdfunding is gaining overwhelming support from the public. In 24 hours, the team has raised 1 million pesos through their gogetfunding account and in 10 days, they have already raised a total of P9, 169, 721.84, 54% of which is from offline donations (Paymaya and Eastwest bank checking account).
The team started putting up isolation tents to beneficiary hospitals 2 days after #UniTENTweStandPH was launched and as of Apr. 4, they were able to donate and put-up isolation tents to 23 hospitals already and have listed 44 more beneficiary hospitals.
The fund drive is still ongoing and the team is still receiving requests. If you are a staff or an admin at a hospital that needs isolation tents, you may send an email to unitentwestandph@gmail.com and if you wish to be part of this project, you may send your donations through Paypal, Paymaya or Eastwest bank checking account.
