Mission Accomplished! Angel Locsin ends fund raiser after sufficiently funding the campaign. Raised Php10.9M in 2 weeks!
On March 25, Angel Locsin launched a fundraising campaign dubbed as #UniTENTweStandPH. The campaign aims to help solve overcrowding in hospitals who reported to be operating at full or overcapacity by providing isolation tents that can be used by PUIs, PUMs, and even Covid-19 positive patients. The team started with a small goal of helping 7 hospitals and as the outpour of support from the people came in, they now have listed a total of 150 beneficiary hospitals.
#UniTENTweStandPH has received unimaginable support from the people, in two weeks the campaign raised almost Php11M which the team deemed to be sufficient to fund the tents to be given to beneficiary hospitals.
On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin announced that they will no longer accept cash donations through their Paypal, Paymaya or bank account. The actress also provided a breakdown of expenses as of April 13, 12:01 AM; Total donations received—Php10,956,702.98, Php9,847,400.00 is allocated for the suppliers of the tents to be donated to 150 hospitals. Php213,269.76 is allocated to pay the fee to GoGetFunding, they charge a flat fee of 4% on the money raised. Other expenses like food, gas, tips and surgical mask used by the team on the field setting up the tents amounting to Php191,981 is also accounted.
Though they announced that they will no longer accept cash donations, the team continues to bring isolation tents to beneficiary hospitals. As of press time, the team has donated a total of 149 isolation and 21 sanitation tents to 85 hospitals already.
Mission accomplished for Angel Locsin, Neil Arce, the entire team and to everyone who donated! The fight against novel coronavirus disease continues but there is nothing more reassuring that we can get through this than campaigns like #UniTENTweStandPH that bring people together to help our frontliners in this battle.
