From 10.9M to 11.3M! Angel Locsin gives update on #UniTENTweStandPH campaign.
With the goal of protecting our health workers by helping some hospitals have more space for people who needs special care and medication, #UniTENTweStandPH was launched.
In 24 hours, the team has raised 1 million pesos through their gogetfunding account. Angel Locsin and Neil Arce started putting up isolation tents to beneficiary hospitals 2 days after #UniTENTweStandPH was launched.
The campaign received an overwhelming support from the people that in two weeks, they raised almost 11M pesos. The team led by the actress and philanthropist Angel Locsin just recently announced that they will no longer accept cash donations after sufficiently funding the campaign and even though the team has announced such people are still coming together to help solve overcrowding in hospitals and continuously giving their financial support to the cause.
On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin gives an update on the total amount raised by the initiative and expressed her gratitude to the generous donors. “In the hope to give the people a chance to have proper medical care at this time. Muli, maraming salamat po sa INYO” she wrote.
From 10.9M as of April 13, 12:01 AM, the campaign has raised a total of Php11,359,856.89 as of April 16, 12:21AM. These funds from the generous donations of those who supported the campaign is allocated to give at least 2 12x24 isolation tents to hospitals which are now operating at full or overcapacity due to the increasing number of Covid-19 positive cases.
At times like this, we see how people come together to help each other. This initiative from Angel Locsin and her friends has now helped over 100 hospitals in Metro Manila and other provinces and has donated more than 100 tents in total.
