Celebrities react to Angel Locsin’s initiative to fight COVID-19!





Angel Locsin, who is known for having a good repute in establishing or helping out various charitable causes, is one of the many celebrities who have pooled together their resources to help people affected by the enhanced community quarantine due to the coronavirus pandemic.


Proving time and again that not all superheroes wear capes, after initially posting a call out for folding beds and pillows, Angel Locsin, fiancé Neil Arce, and their group of friends and volunteers went to work setting up sleeping quarters, quarantine and sanitation tents for doctors, nurses, other essential workers and patients in the fight against the novel coronavirus.


Through their fund raiser dubbed as #UniTENTweStandPH, they have received a whopping P10,956,702.98 allocated to help 150 hospitals in Metro Manila and neighboring provinces.


To date, they have already donated a total of 149 isolation and 21 sanitation tents to 85 hospitals and also medical supplies and personal protective equipment (PPEs).




This movement and her many charitable works drew so much admiration inspiring and influencing others to take part in the “bayanihan” that this country needs more than ever.


And Ms. Karen Davila, a famous journalist, radio broadcaster, and television presenter summed it all up in a tweet saying, “Angel Locsin. A true inspiration.”


Meanwhile, Singer and actress Kim Molina also tweeted, “ANGEL LOCSIN WILL FOREVER BE OUR NUMBER 1 REAL LIFE DARNA. Payt me. 😎”


Singer-songwriter Mr. Ogie Alcasid also reacted via tweet and said, “‪@143redangel‬
‪ you Are amazing!! Saludo!!! God bless your good works!”‬

Mayor Isko to Angel Locsin, “Mabasa ka sana ng ulan para dumami ka pa.”

City of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was filled with so much gratitude as he thanked those people for their outpouring support to the city of Manila via donations and to those who have provided assistance including the philanthropic actress Angel Locsin and her fiancé Neil Arce. The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans.
