Angel Locsin defends Ms. Sharon Cuneta to critics; reveals that the megastar donated 3M pesos to #UniTENTweStandPH!




#UniTENTweStandPH, a crowdfunding launched by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce, Dimples Romana, Gines Sarangaya and Dra. Marev Matic last March 25 has raised 9.9M pesos as of press time, 4.9M pesos of which is from offline donations and just recently Angel Locsin revealed that 3M of the donations raised offline is from Megastar Ms. Sharon Cuneta.



On an Instagram post, a Netizen dared to question Ms. Sharon Cuneta and her family's efforts to help the people amid the pandemic. Angel Locsin can't seem to let this pass and on her comment, the actress revealed the megastar's generosity towards #UniTENTweStandPH campaign. "BTW, Ms. Sharon donated a whopping 3 MILLION PESOS para makatulong kahit paano sa overcrowded hospital situation ngayon  Binigay nya ito ng KUSA at AYAW IPAALAM  Pasensya na po Ms. Sharon at nasabi ko, ha? Just wanted to share my experience sayo kung gaano ka ka-charitable  @castroteresa4 let’s help each other at maging source ng positive energy!  kailangan natin lahat ngayon nyan " she wrote.


The megastar expressed her appreciation to what Angel Locsin did and on her Instagram account she wrote "Dearest Angel, You didn’t have to. But in truth, it’s sad that in times like these when we should all be coming together to help those in need, to those of us who do help, meron at meron ka pa ring maririnig na masasakit na salita. I know you were hurt for me kaya mo nai-post ito. Thank you, my Angel. And saludo ako sa yo sa walang hanggan mo at walang kapagurang pagtulong sa kapwa natin." 




Megastar also appeals for unity amid the pandemic "Ang hirap din tumulong. Kahit galing sa puso mo, may kokontra pa rin. Pero sabi ng Diyos “Do not tire of doing good...” Sana magkaisa talaga ngayon. God is teaching all of us lessons through this pandemic. Maybe one of them is to be kind to one another and to help in every little way we can even though no one is praised. It’s unbelievable to me how mean some people truly are no matter what their fellow human beings may be going through. God sees. God knows. City of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was filled with so much gratitude as he thanked those people for their outpouring support to the city of Manila via donations and to those who have provided assistance including the philanthropic actress Angel Locsin and her fiancé Neil Arce. The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans.
