“Napakaraming buhay and naligtas mo,” Angel Locsin thanked Fashion Designer Michael Leyva for the PPEs he made for the front liners




As a response to the country’s shortage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), top fashion designer Michael Leyva has found a new purpose for his studio in this time of global pandemic crisis. From creating couture for top celebrities, he  designed and created quality medical protective gears for the health workers to beat the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).


Due to the lack of the badly needed equipment, medical workers call for help on social media which broke the internet and led Leyva to come up with his creative idea to produce PPEs that he said were designed according to DOH requirements. What broke his heart is that some of them have been improvising by using plastic trash bags or recyclable plastic containers to protect themselves and the patients from being infected by the virus.


The designer teamed up with philanthropic celebrity Angel Locsin and her team in distributing the first batch of PPEs in Taguig City and said that he is targeting to produce more.




On Friday, Leyva posted photos of our brave health workers wearing the protective suits he created and said, “Seeing them makes me feel proud. I know that they are protected and can continue fight the battle. We should never let our heroes fight wearing garbage bags..: Our heroes #frontlinersPH in #michaelleyva Mabuhay po kayo at maraming salamat.  #sinulidContraCovid.”


Real life Darna Angel Locsin was quick to reply and thanked the designer for his creative hands and good heart.

City of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was filled with so much gratitude as he thanked those people for their outpouring support to the city of Manila via donations and to those who have provided assistance including the philanthropic actress Angel Locsin and her fiancé Neil Arce. The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans.
