Darna trends as Angel Locsin shares concerns for citizens who have no choice but to report to work amid Metro Manila quarantine!





Streets are empty, establishments are closed, and everyone is advised to stay at home and practice social distancing, this is in accordance to the enhanced community quarantine as ordered by the President as preventive measure for the widespread of novel coronavirus disease or CoVid19. But not everyone can afford not to go out and stay at home because they have family to feed and that’s what Angel Locsin tried to point out on her recent Instagram post.


On her post, the actress appeals for poor amid Metro Manila quarantine. She raised few valid points why some people especially those who are part of the marginalized can’t just stay at home. On her post she wrote “Alam natin na importante ang social distancing at proper hygiene pero hindi po ito sasapat kung may mga kababayan tayo na kelangang maghanapbuhay bawat-araw para makakain at matustusan ang mga basic needs ng pamilya gaya ng pambayad sa renta, kuryente, tubig, at iba pa.”


“Kung matitiyak lang po sana ng ating pamahalaan na may financial support para sa kanila, hindi nila kelangang sumugal sa labas.”




Angel Locsin’s post has gained attention from the Netizens and was shared in various social networking sites. Because of the overflowing appreciation she received from her bold statement, “Darna” and “Angel Locsin” trended simultaneously on twitter.


People on twitter are calling her the real-life Darna and commending her for being the voice of those at the lower class.



Angel Locsin is Darna, Darna is Angel Locsin. Even though she will no longer reprise the role,  she never fails to be a real-life hero to everyone at times of distress.

The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans.
