Teleseryes make people relive their dramas and depict their real lives. More often than not, viewers can relate to the stories and characters of soap operas that is why they get all hooked.


Filipinos, according to study, were the most emotional people in the world, and their love of dramatic soap operas could be the primary reason behind our emotional character. It’s been our routine to be seated in a sofa, relaxed with family and binge-watching our beloved telenovelas that largely reflect our lives.


They came into popularity in the 1950s and expanded to different genres and timeslots through the years but the most notables series were on primetime. Since then, teleseryes became a trending part of our culture and nothing can probably stop us from tuning in to our own soap operas and our love for the storylines of these telenovelas will probably never end.




No wonder why even across the globe, other countries get also hooked on Filipino Teleseryes particularly the Southeast Asians. Our love and support for our own is that contagious that it far reaches the hearts and minds overseas and it is something we should take pride on.


Amongst the local teleseryes that aired throughout the years, only few have become the game changers that set the standards and changed the way we watch television.


The ones we call CLASSIC and ICONIC which gripping scenes and lines still resonate in the present time and being reenacted even by the younger generation. Let’s take a trip down memory lane to these teleserye champs.

City of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was filled with so much gratitude as he thanked those people for their outpouring support to the city of Manila via donations and to those who have provided assistance including the philanthropic actress Angel Locsin and her fiancé Neil Arce. The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Amongst many personalities who spoke up against the government order to close ABS-CBN's broadcast operations, Philanthropic actress Angel Locsin also disapproves of the decision as it will cost even more Filipinos their livelihood. “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik,” she said on her Instagram story. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans. On her Instagram post, the actress expressed her gratitude to more than 100 volunteers who helped them repack food packs and hygiene kits.
