Angel Locsin and other celebrities appeal for financial assistance for wage earners affected by enhanced community quarantine.




Suspension of public transport, regulation of provision of food and essential health services, Heightened presence of uniformed personnel to enforce quarantine, and strict implementation of home quarantine should be observed as the President of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte orders the entire Luzon under 'enhanced community quarantine' on Monday, March 16.


With this directive, many were locked down to their homes, leaving their work behind. Some private companies arranged a temporary work from home set-up for their employees. But not everyone has the privilege to work from home and stay at home that's why Angel Locsin and other celebrities appeal for financial assistance for minimum wage earners affected by the quarantine.


On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin wrote "Alam natin na importante ang social distancing at proper hygiene pero hindi po ito sasapat kung may mga kababayan tayo na kelangang maghanapbuhay bawat-araw para makakain at matustusan ang mga basic needs ng pamilya gaya ng pambayad sa renta, kuryente, tubig, at iba pa."




"Kung matitiyak lang po sana ng ating pamahalaan na may financial support para sa kanila, hindi nila kelangang sumugal sa labas."


Few other celebrities like Bianca Gonzales, Erwan Heussaff and DJ Chacha have the same sentiments and shared their thoughts on their respective social media accounts.




As we continue to fight against this virus, we need ‘Bayanihan’ more than ever. Let us help each other to get through this. No one should be left behind.

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims.
