‘The General’s Daughter’ wins Best Acting Ensemble in a Drama Series at the 51st Box Office Entertainment Awards!




The Box Office Entertainment Awards or the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation Box Office Entertainment Awards is an award-giving body that honors stars, performers, and shows for their popularity and commercial success in the Philippine entertainment industry. For its 51st year, GMMSF Box Office Entertainment Awards hails ‘The General’s Daughter’ as the Best Acting Ensemble in a Drama Series besting other nominated drama series.


Talking about best acting ensemble, ‘The General’s Daughter’ houses the best of the best in the industry. Headlined by the Action-Drama Queen, Angel Locsin, and supporting actors and actresses who are on top of their game like the Diamond Star herself, Ms. Maricel Soriano, Ms. Eula Valdes, Ms. Janice de Belen, Mr. Tirso Cruz III, Mr. Albert Martinez and Arjo Atayde to name a few.




Billed as the biggest primetime series of 2019, ‘The General’s Daughter’ turns out to be one of the most successful if not the most successful action drama themed teleserye headlined by an alpha woman and has garnered 10 recognitions from various award-giving bodies majority of which are from academic community.


It was indeed a mission accomplished for The General’s Daughter! Apart from Angel Locsin’s TV Actress of the Year Award, the show was hailed as Best Acting Ensemble in a Drama Series and Mr. Tirso Cruz III emerged as the TV Supporting Actor of the Year for his role as Santiago Guerrero! Award’s night will happen on March 15, 2020 in Resorts World Manila!

The couple and their team who are behind the #UniTentWeStandPH campaign have donated 12x24 isolation tents to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center that would be used for persons under investigation and COVID-19 patients. The said campaign aims to help address overcrowding amid the surge of cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by providing additional room at hospitals operating at full capacity due to the pandemic. 22 hospitals have already received isolation tents and Angel is set to provide tents to 38 more in the coming days. Angel Locsin’s stance on ABS-CBN Closure: “Hindi ako uupo at mananahimik”

Earlier this afternoon, National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) orders ABS-CBN to halt its broadcast operations following the expiration of its franchise. This means that more than 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries will lose their source of income and it was rather heartbreaking as this shutdown of the Philippines’ biggest broadcast network comes at worst possible time amid pandemic. Darna to the rescue! A closer look to the sleeping tents for our health workers provided by Angel Locsin, Neil Arce and team!

On her Instagram account, Angel Locsin with her fiance Neil Arce and their team launched a "Donate a Bed" project. They aim to source out spare beds from their industry friends which will be used in the sleeping tents for health workers that they are going to set-up. A day after they collected the beds, the team began setting up the sleeping tents and after two days of hard work, they are able to turn-over the fully furnished sleeping tents to Taguig's local government unit. If you are wondering how the sleeping tents look like from the inside or how the security and sanitation on the area works, Niña Aquino, one of the volunteers who helped setting up the tents gave some details about that matter on her Facebook account. According to Aquino, there are receptionist with complete PPE to facilitate registration. There are also security guards roving 24 hours to ensure safety and tents will be disinfected and and will be cleaned regularly.

After visiting evacuation centers in Batangas, Angel Locsin made an accounting and lists down donated goods to Taal Volcano eruption victims. Known for her humanitarian efforts, the actress thanked everyone who helped her for this initiative which includes her family, friends in the industry and fans.
